A disc jockey loves to get the crowd going, and often hollers words to the song out loud, or makes shout-outs to members of the audience. A disc jockey can play several types of music, whether it is techno, house, rap, r&b, hip-hop, or other genres. A hip-hop disc jockey usually is backed up by an MC-who helps to hype up the crowd.
